What elegant lines. What timeless styling. And what outstanding build quality. The S-series generation of Bentley is regarded by many as the last generation of true classics from the marque. These cars are imposing yet exude an unrivalled sense of British elegance. The Bentley S1 was introduced in 1955, followed by the S2 in 1959 and the S3 in 1963. The design was so iconic that the model remained virtually unchanged throughout this period. Initially, the main changes took place beneath the surface. The Bentley S1 was powered by a 4,887 cc six-cylinder engine, while the later S2 and S3 models featured V8 engines. The S1’s inline-six was the final evolution of the six-cylinder engines used in Rolls-Royce cars from the company’s earliest days and in Bentleys from 1933 onwards. The engine is reliable, smooth and powerful. The S1 was the first model to feature an automatic transmission as standard and also came equipped with power steering (which was not standard on early S1 models) and servo-assisted brakes. Combined with the renowned Bentley comfort, these features deliver a luxurious, smooth and refined driving experience.

The Bentley S1 offered by Classic Park comes from the estate of a highly respected Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist. The car has been maintained with great care and craftsmanship over many years. The paintwork, upholstery, woodwork and mechanical components are all in very good condition. Driving this comfortable classic is a genuine pleasure.
The Bentley was delivered new in February 1957 to Mr F.W. Summerfield in Great Britain. It has been registered in the Netherlands since 2001 and has had just one owner during that time.
