The Bentley Continental GT W12 was introduced in 2003. Following Bentley's acquisition by Volkswagen AG, the Continental GT became one of the brand's most important models, designed to appeal to a broader audience while remaining true to Bentley's traditional identity.

The Continental GT marked a significant milestone in the marque's history, as it was the first Bentley to be produced in large numbers using a modern industrial manufacturing process. It was based on the Volkswagen Phaeton W12 platform, the brainchild of Ferdinand Piëch. The former Volkswagen chairman was determined to demonstrate that Volkswagen could compete with premium manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, insisting that the Phaeton had to meet exceptionally demanding engineering standards. As a result, its platform provided an outstanding foundation for Bentley's new grand tourer.

The Bentley Continental GT W12 combines a relatively compact coupé body with a sophisticated chassis and an engine configuration that was truly distinctive within its segment. The W12 engine is an unusual and technically fascinating design, consisting of two narrow-angle V-engines integrated into a single unit. Although this engine architecture was also used in several other luxury and performance models within the Volkswagen Group, its application in the Continental GT gave the car a unique position in Bentley's model range. The result was a grand tourer capable of effortlessly covering long distances while offering an exceptional blend of performance, luxury and everyday usability.

Built in Crewe, the Continental GT occupied a unique position in the market, bridging the gap between traditional British luxury coupés and modern high-performance grand tourers. It quickly became one of Bentley's most important volume models during a period in which the marque experienced production numbers far exceeding those of previous decades. It is fair to say that the Continental GT proved to be an outstanding success.

Over the course of its production, several derivatives and special versions were introduced, yet the Continental GT W12 remained the core model of the range for many buyers. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the defining Bentley models of the twenty-first century, successfully combining the marque's traditional character with modern engineering and a broader international appeal.

This Bentley Continental GT W12 was delivered new in Japan in 2008 and is now registered in the Netherlands. The car displays a low recorded mileage, which corresponds well with its excellent overall condition. As the vehicle was imported from Japan, the indicated mileage cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless, this Continental GT presents in above-average condition, including the interior. The leather upholstery remains in excellent condition, the wood veneer retains a deep gloss without cracks or hairline fractures, the paintwork has a beautiful shine, and the alloy wheels are free from damage (having already been professionally refurbished).

The onboard display indicates that the Bentley is due for a service. Apart from this, the Continental GT drives superbly and is free from any other warning lights or fault messages.
