This 1996 Rover Mini 1.3i is a rare Kensington edition. The Kensington Minis were produced only in 1996 and feature a number of distinctive characteristics. The most striking feature of this luxurious special edition is the electrically operated sliding/folding sunroof, which extends over almost the entire roof. Other notable features include metallic paint, alloy wheels, a leather interior, a walnut dashboard, wooden door cappings, chrome accents, a sports steering wheel and tinted glass. All Kensington models were equipped with the 1.3-litre Single Point Injection (SPi) engine. This particular Rover Mini is also fitted with an automatic transmission.

This Rover Mini 1.3i Automatic was built in 1996 and has an original low mileage of just 36,575 kilometres. It was first delivered in the Netherlands on 3 September 1996. This is a carefully restored and well-maintained example, originating from a private collection. During the restoration, the car was refinished in an original light grey Mini colour with a black roof, giving it a charming and elegant appearance. The bodywork has been fully restored and fitted with new front and rear subframes, helping to ensure many more years of enjoyable motoring.

The engine has been upgraded with a modified cylinder head featuring hardened valve seats and valves suitable for unleaded fuel. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly. The mechanical components have also been extensively renewed, including the braking system, the fuel injection system and a stainless-steel exhaust system. In addition, the car is equipped with an RSX 519 adjustable suspension featuring Krypton gas-filled shock absorbers, a larger aluminium radiator with an additional electric cooling fan, ventilated twin front disc brakes and a brake servo. LED headlights and indicators provide a brighter and more effective light output. The upgraded suspension delivers outstanding road holding with a strong emphasis on comfort. Driving this Mini is a genuine pleasure: the automatic transmission operates smoothly and the engine performs beautifully. This makes the car not only a sound investment but also a wonderful source of driving enjoyment.
