What elegant lines. What timeless styling. And also: what solid craftsmanship. The S-generation of Bentley is considered by many to be the last true classic generation of the brand. It is a model that commands presence while radiating unparalleled British elegance. The Bentley S1 was introduced in 1955 and was succeeded by the S2 in 1959 and the S3 in 1963. The design was so iconic that it remained virtually unchanged throughout its production. Most of the changes were made under the surface. The Bentley S1 was powered by a 4,887 cc inline-six engine, while the later S2 and S3 models featured a V8. The inline-six in the S1 is the final evolution of the engines originally used in Rolls-Royce vehicles, and in Bentleys since 1933. It is known for being reliable, smooth, and powerful. The S1 was the first Bentley to feature an automatic transmission as standard, and also came with power steering (not standard on early S1s) and brake servo assistance. In addition to the renowned Bentley comfort, the car offers a luxurious, smooth, and refined driving experience.
