The Mercedes-Benz R129 series was produced from 1989 to 2001. It was the first production car to feature seats with integrated seat belts. Safety has always been a top priority for Mercedes-Benz, and the R129 came standard with a roll bar that deploys in the event of a rollover.
When it was introduced in 1989, the car was available with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 12 valves, producing 190 horsepower. An optional 3.0-liter inline-six with 24 valves was also offered, delivering an impressive 231 horsepower. This engine, known as the M104, features a double overhead camshaft with four valves per cylinder. With this setup, the car can reach a top speed of 240 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.
The 300SL-24 at Classic Park is one of those powerful 24-valve models. This car comes with several attractive extras, including leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel and gear lever, wood trim on the dashboard and doors, cruise control, automatic climate control, heat-rejecting glass, headlight washers, heated seats, 8-spoke alloy wheels, and remote-controlled locks.
Additionally, this R129 comes with the hardtop included. The 300SL-24 is registered in Belgium.
