When in 1983 the third generation of the Audi 100 came onto the market, the rounded, streamlined design was a real sensation. As important features the model's economy and safety were highlighted. The car was available in various luxury levels and with several engines. Also in 1983, the Audi 200 came onto the market, which was not only more luxuriously equipped, but also had a powerful 2226 cc five-cylinder engine. In Germany, the Audi 200 was also available with a turbo. When in 1991 the fourth generation Audi 100 came onto the market, the 200 Turbo had no successor.
The model was introduced as one of the fastest limousines in the world. The car reached a top speed of 216 km/h and sped to 100 km/h in just 8.0 seconds. Certainly for that time, these are impressive performances. The Audi 200 Turbo at Classic Park was delivered new in Germany in 1984 and has been registered in the Netherlands since 2009. The service booklet contains more than 20 maintenance stamps, which indicates that the car has been well maintained.
