The Citroën SM is one of the most legendary models of all time. The car is special in all its fibers and has gained even more fame in the Netherlands because Johan Cruyff had an SM at the time. There are several theories as to what the letters "SM" stand for, but it is usually accepted that the letters stand for "Sport Maserati". Under the long hood is a 2670 cc V6 Maserati engine block, which guarantees appealing performance and a striking sound. The engine has Weber carburetors and is fitted with a five-speed manual transmission. The list of details of this car is very long. For example, the SM is equipped with Citroën's signature hydropneumatic suspension system that makes the car super comfortable and allows the body to make remarkable movements. The pivoting headlights are also part of the list of special features, as is the one-spoke steering wheel, the speed-dependent DIRAVI power steering with the exceptional self-centering effect so that the front wheels always straighten themselves when stationary, the brake pedal that is designed as a push button, the oval meters on the dashboard, the curved lines of the seats, and so on. The Citroën SM was produced from 1970 to 1975 with a production number that almost reached 13,000 units. The SM at Classic Park is in good condition.
