In the mid-1950s, in Linares, Spain, the company Metalurgica de Santa Ana S.A., later Santana Motor S.A., was founded, that focused on the construction of agricultural equipment and off-road vehicles. Soon a collaboration with Land Rover arose and Santana built under license various Land Rover models in Spain. From the early 1960s, these were also exported to other countries. More than twenty years later, the partnership with Land Rover was broken. Nowadays Santana works together with Iveco.
The Santana offered by Classic Park is a Land Rover Series III built by Santana in 1980. The car has a 2286 cc four-cylinder diesel engine with a four-speed manual gearbox. All facilities are present to defy the most impassable terrain with this car.
Because seats and benches can be easily removed and even the entire hardtop can be removed, the number of passengers and the amount of luggage can be put together in limitless variations. The Land Rover is also equipped with a tow bar.
The whole car is spartan. The black leatherette interior, the use of diamond plate, the omission of interior trim, the leaf springs, the four-wheel drive, the spare wheel on the hood, manually operated ventilation flaps under the windscreen, so much about this car makes it a tough all-rounder that tickles all the adventurous traits of the users.
