Isn't a Mercedes-Benz S-class already cramped, in 1981 it was already possible to order an S-class in an extra long version. This 380 SEL from the W126 series is such an extended version. The car measures no less than 5135mm, an extension of 14 centimeters over the standard S-Class, and the wheelbase is over 3 meters long, 3075mm to be precise. So the car is made for comfort. Under the hood is a 3818 cc V8 engine that is linked to an automatic gearbox. Additional technologies ordered are a cruise control (Tempomat), ABS, central locking, automatic climate control, electric front windows and headlight wipers with high-pressure cleaning. The fact that the car was primarily aimed at the comfort of all occupants is evident from the extra legroom in the rear, but also from the exclusive Pullman upholstery, the additional heating, heat-resistant glass, speakers in the rear and the two extra reading lights in the rear.
