The Buick Roadmaster was produced from 1936 until 1958. The 1942 Roadmaster was longer, lower, wider and more spacious than before. The Sedanet fastback style, a continuous line from windscreen to rear, was used, as well as the Buick-designed double-hinged hood. This hood can be opened on both sides. On later Roadmasters, the bonnet can only be opened at the front. The Roadmaster has an eight-cylinder in-line engine and, although this engine was not the most modern at the time these cars were produced, these engines are known for being very robust and reliable. Therefore, Buick made use of the in-line engine until 1953, while other manufacturers often used a V8 engine. In 1947 the Roadmaster got a new grille with a separate molding above it. While only Roadmaster is stated on the 1947 model, the series name is also stated on the 1948 model. This 1948 Buick is a Roadmaster Special. You can recognize this immediately by the beautiful extra chrome moldings on the sides. In addition, in 1948 the white steering wheel was replaced by a black steering wheel as with this Buick.
On December 9, 1948, this Special is registered in North Carolina, America. The first owner could not have imagined a more beautiful Christmas present. This beautiful classic was recently imported from America. The first Title, a brochure and an owners guide are present, which is very special. The owners of the Buick have been incredibly kind to the car: it is a very beautiful, intact and original car. The Roadmaster is still equipped with the original interior! The interior has just undergone a thorough refurbishment and looks fantastic. The paintwork is older but is also in very nice condition. This Roadmaster is truly a car to cherish and enjoy. Equipped with a Dutch registration. Due to the downsizing of a collection, this Buick can go to an enthusiast who is just as enthusiastic about it as we are. The big smile is included!
