Matching numbers, matching colours. According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity this beautiful 356 SC 1600 Reutter Cabriolet left the factory on 22-2-1965 to be delivered to its first owner in Düsseldorf, Germany. He had ordered the car in Bali Blue with a black leather interior and many options, such as chrome wheels, a chromed horn ring, two loudspeakers and a ‘Kompressor-Fanfare’ (multi-tone horn). The Porsche still retains its original engine and chassis, and has been re-sprayed in the original Bali Blue colour. Despite being restored some time ago, the excellent paintwork and the fitting of the panels show the high quality of the restoration. Recently another 20,000 euros were spent on the mechanics: the engine and the differential have been completely overhauled, using original Porsche cylinder heads for the engine. The Belgian-registered Porsche has a 12 Volts electrical system. With its 1,6 litre 95hp engine the SC had a power output of an extra 20hp compared to the ‘normal’ versions. Even after the 911 had been launched in 1963 the 356 remained popular, especially in the United States, for its more sporty character.
