New at Classic Park, this Volvo Amazon P1300. The car was produced in 1969 in Volvo’s new plant in Gent (BE) and then delivered to its first owner in Norway. Why deliver all your parts from Sweden to Belgium to then send the car ‘back north’ to Norway? Because in 1969 Volvo had already started producing the new 164-series and was running at maximum capacity. Therefore the productionplant in Belgium became a necessity. In 1977 this car was imported into the Netherlands where it was owned by one single owner up to 2014. The current owner bought the car in 2016 and has spent the past two years bringing the car back to pristine condition. In the past 3 years, over 10.000 euro’s have been spent on parts alone, excluding labor- and resprayingcosts.
The car was carefully body-off restored, making sure that the chassis received a complete anti-rust treatment and powder coating. This was done in the same colour as the exterior of the car: California White (colourcode 42). The restoration was not limited to the exterior, with new brakes, reworked suspension and all pipes, hoses, filters, and gaskets being replaced. On top of this, the car was improved in the area of gaskets, seals, bushes, rubbers, bearings and where necessary electronically. The car is also fitted with a Hollandia sliding roof, which has been completely restored and functions perfectly.
After being restored the Amazon has only been driven approximately 500 kilometers and is now ready for a new owner.
