This magnificent Mercedes-Benz 300 'SL' (S) was rebuilt in the years 2000/2001 and modified to SL Sports 'SL' (S)) racing specifications by the specialized German company HK-Engineering. The car was made approximately 250 kg lighter by including the use of a tuned aluminum cylinder block and by removing excess weight such as the bumpers. The cylinder diameter was drilled in the year 2002 to 85.05 mm, the displacement was thus increased to 2999.7 cm 3. The car got FIA papers in November 2002.
The Mercedes-Benz was equipped with a special 'SL' (S) windshield for reduced drag, disc brakes on the front axle, a special racing exhaust, a rubber racing tank in the trunk and quick release locks for locking the bonnet and the boot lid. The racing interior with cockpit chairs in leather in blue and blue / gray checkered fabrics blends perfectly with the car. The dashboard is made of blue leather. This fabulous Mercedes-Benz 300 runs, steers, brakes and sounds great! The car is in good condition.
Since 2002 the car has built an attractive (racing) history in the Carrera Panamerica, the Goodwood Revival, Oschersleben and the Nurburgring. The Mercedes-Benz 300 'SL' (S) is one of the most highly regarded collectors items, one of the most coveted classic cars and a solid investment in the Mercedes-Benz heritage. The current owner bought the car in 2005 and it is since December 2005 on Dutch papers.
The current owner bought the Mercedes-Benz 1113 truck with double cab to go to various (racing) events with the car at home and abroad. The 1113 is fully adapted to transport the sports car. This truck was delivered new in Germany in October 1969 and has a 6 cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 5638 cm3. The truck is since December 2005 on Dutch papers. The truck was originally an 11 ton truck but it is now reduced to 7490 kg, it has a power output of 130 hp. The truck is included in the price of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL(S).
