This Sports Coupé is restored down to the smallest detail. The Interior of this A Sports Coupé is equipped with LeBaron Bonney coverings what was created by LeBaron according to recipe of 1929. The roof is also made in this way by LeBaron. This car is equipped with a Dicky Seat which provides two additional seating in the back what are upholstered with artificial leather.
The restoration last 15 years, including the search for the original New-Old-Stock parts. The result are impressive, everything is new to the last bolt. The restoration is documented by an extensive photo report.
This Ford is made in a beautiful and "period" correct color scheme and is in an excellent condition. A sun visor is added above the windshield. The Ford also contains a windshield wiper, a fuel gauge, a starter motor and wire wheels. The radiator contains an original Moto Meter which shows temperature of the cooling water.
Originally, this A-Ford comes from America, California and is imported in 2000 in the Netherlands, the European import duties are fulfilled and this A-Ford is "ready to go".
The Ford A Sport Coupé was built in 1929 in the United States. Although the A-Ford where built in large numbers, this type is the most rare variant due to the short production period from March 1928 to August 1929.
The gear box consists three gears and one reverse gear. The powerful 3.3 liter 4 cylinder in-line engine delivers 40 HP and achieves a top speed of 65 mph or 105 km/hour. Because of these high speeds the Ford has four drum brakes with a mechanical control. The windshield is made of safety glass, the A-Ford was the first car who had this standardized.
