This beautiful Mercedes-Benz 220 SE, as offered by Classic Park is in very good condition. This Benz began his "life" in the USA, to be precise with "Daimler-Benz of North America Inc." in New York. In 1997 this car came from the USA to the Netherlands. The original factory supplied Becker Europa radio was still there. In the period 1997-1998 (almost immediately after arriving in the Netherlands), the car is fully and carefully restored by Automotive in Ulft. From this restoration are some photos there. On April 24, 1998 (immediately after restoration) this car has got its Dutch registration. After restoration the car was used for club rallies, the owner had always smooth rides. That is not so strange, the car was maintained regardless of costs. Remarkably, the car had since his arrival in Europe only one enthusiastic owner!
The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE, with the brand name: W128, also known as Ponton was developed as a vehicle for the luxury segment. Mercedes-Benz sold the car in the models sedan, coupe and convertible. The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE was the most luxurious version of the Ponton series. The Ponton series did include the Mercedes-Benz 219 and 220 S. The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE came with an M127 engine. This engine has a cylinder capacity of 2195 cc, is equipped with an aluminum cylinder head, an overhead camshaft and has a Bosch mechanical fuel injection system.
